Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar was furious at the selection.

Pakistan on Thursday announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, with Shaheen Afridi returning to the team.

Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar was furious at the selection and slammed Pakistan Cricket Board’s chief selector Mohammad Wasim and the present head coach Saqlain Mushtaq.

Speaking on his YouTube channel on Friday, Akhtar said Pakistan haven’t solved their middle order issues, which troubles them in the Asia Cup 2022.

“Pakistan have a problem with the middle-order and instead of solving it, they have gone in with the same set of players for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022,” he said.

The veteran pacer then lashed out at the chief selector and head coach.

“Our chief selectors has a limited thinking and even Saqlain Mushtaq has no idea about T20 cricket. Mohammad Yousuf was with the team but I don’t know whether he is allowed to say anything. Iftikhar Ahmed is Misbah part two. I don’t want to say but Pakistan will make a first round exit in the upcoming World Cup in Australia,” he added.
