In a major blow to the Pakistan team, pacer Shahnawaz Dahani has been ruled out of the Asia Cup Super 4 game against India due to a suspected side strain.
He suffered the injury during the second game against Hong Kong. The pacer bowled two overs and took 1 wicket while conceding just 7 runs, including a maiden.
In the first game against India, Dahani bowled four overs and gave away 29 runs. However, 16 runs off 6 balls took the team to a competitive total of 147.
Meanwhile, the Men in Green is already without Shaheen Afridi, who injured his knee during a Test series against Sri Lanka.
Even other pacers, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf were troubled by cramps in the team’s contest with the arch-rivals.
They recovered for the second game, but their fitness could trouble them on September 4.
