The ICC match referee had rated the Pindi pitch “below average” after England won the test match by 74 runs under dimming light.

Former cricketer Danish Kaneria has criticized Pakistan’s bowling performance after England scored more than 500 runs on Day 1 of the opening Test in Rawalpindi.

“On dead pitches, these Bakri (incompetent) bowlers will get exposed as they don’t know where to bowl,” he said.

The veteran felt that bowlers failed to read the pitch, and he was left disappointed with their line and length. He wanted them to bowl full to make the batters drive, which could have resulted in edges.

“Nobody bowled full-length deliveries. You get wickets on this length and not from behind,” he added.

Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, and Harry Brook scored centuries as England accumulated 657 in their first innings.
