Legendary India spinner R Ashwin said Pakistan will have to travel to India to compete in the ICC 2023 ODI World Cup.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi has threatened to boycott the global event if the Men in Blue don’t travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has urged the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to shift the Continental Cup outside Pakistan.

A decision in this regard will be taken in the next meeting of the Asian Cricket Council.

Reacting to the comments made by the PCB chairman, Ashwin said the Men in Green can’t back out of the 2023 ODI World Cup despite the ongoing tension between BCCI and PCB.

“Asia Cup was supposed to be played in Pakistan but India have announced that it takes place in the neighbouring country, then we won’t be playing. If you want us in the tournament, change the venue,” he said.

“We have seen this happening in the past. When we say that we will not play in their country, they will also react in a similar way. Pakistan have said that they will not play in the 2023 World Cup in India. However, I don’t think it is possible as they can’t refuse,” he added.
