Wasim Akram has claimed that Pakistan will be the favourites in the Asia Cup 2022 final but told the Men in Green to be wary of the Sri Lanka team on Sunday.
Sri Lanka have been impressive after losing to Afghanistan in the tournament’s opening game. They are on a four-match winning streak, including victories over India and Pakistan.
While talking to BBN Sports, as quoted by News 18, Akram said the Babar Azam-led team would learn from its mistakes and start as front-runners in the final.
“Pakistan have been fabulous as a team in the Asia Cup 2022. They took the last game against Sri Lanka but will learn from their mistakes. I still think Pakistan are favourites for the title, but they cannot take Sri Lanka lightly,” he said.
“Pakistan cricket lovers have pointed fingers towards our middle-order, which was exposed in the last Super 4 contest after Mohammed Rizwan’s dismissals. Hopefully, Pakistan will come back stronger,” he added.
