Rohit Sharma and Sanjay Manjrekar
Manjrekar called Siraj as India's finest found in recent times

New Zealand’s ODI series against India concluded similarly as of Sri Lanka, who also conceded a 3-0 sweep by the hands of Men in Blue in the fifty-over format. In the 3rd ODI, India beat the Kiwis by 90 runs and became the world’s number-one-ranked ODI side.

Shardul Thakur won the player of the match for his three-wicket haul, while Shubman Gill, who scored 360 runs in the three-match series, won the player of the series award.

Gill is in scintillating form, as he struck a double hundred and a hundred in the series and also equalled Babar Azam’s record for most runs in a three-match bilateral series.

The 23 years was praised heavily by skipper Rohit Sharma, who ended his century drought by registering a three-figure score after over 500 days in ODIs. The hitman spoke highly of Gill, but former India cricketer turned presenter Sanjay Manjrekar was a bit disappointed with Sharma for hardly mentioning Mohammed Siraj, one of the finest bowlers for India in recent times.

Manjrekar spoke in length about Siraj and said that the RCB star did not let India miss Jasprit Bumrah.

“In the post-match ceremony, he was hardly mentioned. He is one player whose growth has been phenomenal. He is a three-format player and played well in T20Is and Test also.”
