Australia legend Matthew Hayden has claimed that Ben Stokes hasn’t been at his best in the Indian Premier League. However, he backed the all-rounder as the X-factor for Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming season.
The England Test captain has been a part of the league since 2017 and performed poorly in the last two seasons. In 8 games, he scored 280 runs in IPL 2020. He skipped the 2022 season, and CSK bought him for the 16th season for INR 16.25 crore.
Overall, Ben has amassed 920 runs at an average of 25.56 in 43 matches. “Stokes has never realized his potential in IPL. He will be an x-factor for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023,” said Hayden during an interaction on Star Sports.
The former CSK opener said Ravindra Jadeja will be the player to watch out for.
“Ravindra Jadeja will be the player to watch out for the four-time champions. He can win matches for the franchise.”
