Virat Kohli has defended Arshdeep Singh, who came under the firing line of the fans after dropping Asif Ali’s catch in the 18th over of Pakistan’s innings.
He was held responsible for India’s defeat by 5 wickets in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup 2022.
“Look, anyone can make a mistake, and we all have seen that. He will feel bad but things are going to be normal once the players return for the next training session,” he said.
The 33-year-old, who scored 60 off 44 balls, added that Mohammad Nawaz changed the game in Pakistan’s favor.
“Nawaz was the game changer as he played a blinder for Pakistan. He stayed at the crease for a long time and took the game away from us. We never expected such batting from him,” he added.
For the record, Nawaz scored 42 off 20 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes. He also bowled 4 overs and took the wicket of Suraykaumar Yadav while conceding just 25 runs.
