India Cricket Board secretary Jay Shah has flown to Bahrain to attend the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has been called at PCB chairman Najam Sethi’s behest to decide fate of Pakistan’s Asia Cup 2023 hosting rights.
According to the sources, there is no chance of Pakistan hosting the event. The tournament will be shifted to the UAE or Sri Lanka with Pakistan retaining the hosting rights.
“Jay Shah is in Bahrain. India will not travel to Pakistan as the BCCI has not received go-ahead from the government,” a BCCI source stated.
The recent bomb blast in Peshawar has again raised concerns about holding international matches in Pakistan.
Earlier, Jay Shah had officially told the media that India will not travel to Pakistan.
