Naveen-ul-Haq and Virat Kohli
Naveen-ul-Haq broke silence on 'I am sorry Virat Kohli sir' tweet

Naveen-ul-Haq and Virat Kohli were at the centre of one of the biggest controversies in the history of IPL after the duo got into an ugly altercation after RCB’s win over LSG on May 1.

Notably, RCB had an easy win against LSG at the Ekana Stadium, where Naveen got upset by Virat’s aggression on the field, which resulted in a verbal fight during the post-match handshake.

Soon after the game, the duo directed several indirect digs at each other. Also, Naveen has been at the centre of ‘Kohli Kohli’ chants in every game he has played since the fight.

However, recently, the Afghanistan quick stunned cricket fans after an apology tweet surfaced online by a Twitter user with his name. A Twitter handle ‘@naveenulhaq66’ posted, “I’m sorry Virat Kohli sir”. It instantly went viral and gained over 25000 likes.

In the latest development, Naveen has broken the silence on the matter and clarified the post was made by a fake account under his name. He posted a fresh tweet where he wrote, “From this fake account. Whoever has got messages, report it, thanks.”

Haq, who played in his debut IPL season, picked up 16 wickets in eight games.
