The triumph was a historic moment for many players, including Kumar Kartikeya Singh, who didn't visit his home for about nine years.

Mumbai Indians are about to start early preparations for IPL 2023. As per reports, the franchise has decided to send its uncapped Indian players to England for three weeks in July as a part of the exposure tour.

MI have started planning for the next season after finishing last in IPL 2022.

Mumbai Indians are the most successful franchise in the league’s history. Their one bad season raised eyebrows about the management’s auction strategies. To prove the critics wrong, the Mumbai-based team needs to bounce back in the upcoming season.

The management is sending their rookie players to England, where they will play 10 T20 matches against top clubs. The decision stems from the fact that the young crop of the team won’t have any match practice for three and a half months until the next domestic season starts.

Tilak Varma, Kumar Kartikeya, Ramandeep Singh, Hrithik Shokeen, and Arjun Tendulkar will be part of the exposure tour. Meanwhile, it’s murmured that ‘Baby AB’ Devald Bravis will also join the group.

In addition, their head coach Mahela Jayawardene will also travel to England with the young boys to assess their progress.

The source told PTI, “Tilak Varma, Kumar Kartikeya, Ramandeep Singh, and Hrithik Shokeen are some of the players who will get exposure while playing against top T20 club sides in trying conditions. Arjun Tendulkar, who is also in the UK, and South African youngster Dewald Brevis are also likely to join the touring party.”

He added, “The Indian domestic season has come to an end. While the top players like skipper Rohit Sharma and premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah are with the national team, our international stars will also be busy with their respective commitments.”

Further, there will be no live broadcast of the matches.
