According to Insidesport, MS Dhoni could be banned from the Indian Premier League 2023 final. He intentionally wasted time during Qualifier 1 despite being charged with a code of conduct once.
During Gujarat Titans’chase, the CSK skipper was seen arguing with umpires, which caused a five-minute delay.
The incident took place in the 16th over when umpires stopped Matheesha Pathirana from bowling as he was not on the field for some time.
Dhoni’s lengthy discussion with the officials didn’t go well with Sunil Gavaskar and Simon Doull.
“That 5-minute argument with the umpires was unnecessary. MS Dhoni stopped the game instead of letting another player bowl,” said Simon Doull.
There hasn’t been any update on whether the umpires have reported against him. However, Dhoni could be fined or banned if the charge is brought up.
Speaking about the GT vs CSK clash, the home team beat the Titans by 15 runs to reach the final of the 16th season. This will be the 10th final appearance for the four-time champions.
