Former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody praised MS Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after their victory in the IPL 2023. Dhoni had jokingly warned his bowlers to cut down extras or play under a new captain. Despite leaking the most runs, Tushar Deshpande emerged as CSK’s highest wicket-taker in the season.
Moody highlighted the impressive performance of Sri Lanka’s Matheesha Pathirana, who bagged 19 wickets. Dhoni had immense faith in Pathirana’s abilities and he consistently delivered under pressure.
Moody also applauded New Zealand’s Devon Conway for his exceptional batting throughout the season. Conway’s adaptability and consistency provided stability to CSK’s batting order. He played a remarkable knock of 47 off 25 balls in the IPL 2023 final and was named the Player of the Match. Conway amassed 672 runs in 16 matches as the CSK opener.
