Mohammed Shami has been one of the best bowlers across formats in international cricket. He showed his class in the first official warm-up match against Australia ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.
Captain Rohit Sharma gave the veteran the last over, with the hosts needing just 11 runs. However, not only took three wickets but also had an involvement in a run-out to script a 6-run victory for the Men in Blue.
He was seen talking to Shaheen Afridi, who made it to the Pakistan squad after recovering from his knee injury. Shami shared valuable inputs with the speedster of the Men in Green.
Shami was initially in the standby list, but an injury to Jasprit Bumrah and Deepak Chahar opened the doors for him. He replaced Bumrah for the global tournament.
India will take on New Zealand in the last warm-up game before playing against Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup campaign opener on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Academy.
