England defeated Pakistan by six wickets in the first T20I of the series. The visitors will play seven T20Is in the sub-continent country.
Babar Azam-led team is looking for a strong comeback after losing to Sri Lanka in the finale of the Asia Cup 2022. The middle-order hasn’t fired while the strike-rate of Babar and Mohammad Rizwan was also questioned.
Rizwan’s consistency as an opener has sidelined Pakistan’s former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed from the national team.
Former Pakistan cricketer Sikander Bakht has said that Sarfaraz will not play for Pakistan again, as Rizwan once stated that he won’t allow him to return to the side.
“He will not play now as one of the cricketers told me that Rizwan will not allow Sarfaraz to return as Sarfaraz didn’t let Rizwan play when he was a part of the squad. So, it is the opposite now. This what I have heard, and I might be wrong,” he said.
Rizwan had made his debut for Pakistan during an ODI against Bangladesh in 2015 but cemented his place after the 2019 World Cup.
