England white-ball captain Jos Buttler is excited to have the biggest superstar in the T20I side ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.
Stokes was not a part of the last edition of the global tournament due to mental health issues but will return for the upcoming event Down Under.
The 31-year-old has started preparations for a three-match T20I series against Australia, starting on Sunday, October 9, in Perth.
Ahead of the series opener, Buttler said Stokes is a superstar, and his presence will help the side.
“Ben Stokes is a superstar and England’s biggest player. We will try him at the top of the batting order and see how he performs. Stokes likes to take responsibility. He is the guy you want in the team. I am excited to have him back.”
