England took on the Netherlands in the first ODI of the three-match series. The visitors slammed multiple records during their record total of 498/4 in 50 overs. The chief architect of England’s domination was Jos Buttler, who is coming off a sensational IPL 2022 campaign with Rajasthan Royals (RR).

The right-handed batter was the highest run-scorer in the 15th season of the league and won the Orange Cap.

Buttler said that the IPL 2022 season helped him arrive in good touch with a license to attack the rivals from ball one.

He hit 14 maximums and seven boundaries as he scored an unbeaten 162 off 70 deliveries at a strike rate of 231.42.

The 31-year-old had accumulated 863 runs for Rajasthan Royals, including 4 hundreds and as many fifties.

“The IPL couldn’t have gone better for me. Coming here and batting on a good wicket gave me a license to go an attack from ball one. I had not played for two months before IPL, which gave me motivation and energy to give my best,” said Buttler.
