Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the International Cricket Council for allowing his elder son and nephews to stand as mascot kids during the ICC World Cup 2023.
He posted a picture on social media to reveal the news.
“Witnessing my son Imran, and my nephews Ayaan and Raiyaan, standing proudly for the National Anthem on the field is a memory that will last a lifetime. Grateful to @ICC @BCCI for this unforgettable moment,” he wrote on X.
Irfan was one of the commentators and was hailed for his spot on predictions. He also hogged the limelight for dancing with Rashid Khan after Afghanistan’d win over Pakistan in Chennai.
Although he was slammed by former Pakistan players and fans, he continued to support Afghans.
Irfan also invited Afghanistan cricketers for dinner at his Mumbai home.
