Faf du Plessis and Nitish Rana
Kolkata Knight Riders to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 6

The wait is over, and IPL will return to the famous Eden Gardens after a year on April 6, when Kolkata Knight Riders take on Royal Challengers Bangalore. KKR are coming after a loss, as the Nitish Rana-led side suffered a defeat in their first game against Punjab Kings. Meanwhile, RCB dominated their first game against Mumbai Indians, where the Challengers handed MI an eight-wicket defeat with 3.4 overs in hand.

Ahead of the upcoming clash, KKR and RCB both dealt with heavy blows. Shreyas Iyer, who was supposed to miss the first half of the season, got ruled out of the entire edition, while the same has happened with Rajat Patidar, who will not play a solitary game for RCB this season.

Amid Iyer and Shakib Al Hasan‘s absence, the Riders are low on match-winning talents but also received a boost as their star speedster Lockie Ferguson has joined the side and will feature against RCB. In the first game against Punjab, KKR lacked wicket-taking bowlers, and none of their batters excelled apart from Andre Russell, who would also be their go-to-player against RCB. Although, KKR have roped in Jason Roy as one of their replacements, but it is unlikely that the Englishmen starts for the two-time winner.

On the other hand, RCB had a near-perfect game against Mumbai Indians. Although, they will miss out on Reece Topley’s service against KKR because of the shoulder injury in the first game. Sadly, RCB’s premier spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is still busy with international commitments and will return after April 8.

To talk about the coming game, RCB are a better side than KKR on paper. KKR lacks heavily in their batting and bowling prowess, while the Faf du Plessis-led side will have a bit issue with the ball but are one of the best batting sides in the tournament.

This article will shed light on the pitch report, weather update and playing XI for the coming Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore game.
