Former India player Virender Sehwag feels MS Dhoni’s mistake was behind Chennai Super Kings’ defeat against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023.
Dhoni often uses his slow bowlers and squeezes in an over from his sixth bowling option if one of the bowlers is having an off day.
Tushar Deshpande conceded 51 runs in his 3.2 overs. Speaking to Cricbuzz, Virender Sehwag said Dhoni should have used Moeen Ali somewhere.
“He should have used Moeen Ali, and that would have avoided going to Tushar Deshpande, who was highly expensive. Dhoni doesn’t make such mistakes,” he said,
Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary was also surprised by CSK’s ploy to give Deshpande the new ball.
“Giving the new ball to Tushar Deshpande was wrong. In the domestic matches, he bowls in the latter phase of the match.”
