Rishabh Pant
The ‘Believe Ambassadors’ represent different parts of the country.

Delhi Capitals (DC) showed their support for injured Rishabh Pant during the match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Saturday, and the heartwarming gesture has taken the internet by storm.

Pant, injured in a car crash last year, cannot play in the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In his absence, David Warner is leading the DC side. The team made Pant feel included by hanging his jersey on the top of the dugout during the match.

The gesture was accompanied by the message, “Always in our dugout. Always in our team,” shared on the team’s official Twitter account.

The photo of the jersey hanging on the dugout has gone viral on social media, with fans and fellow players applauding the team’s support for their teammate.

DC will be looking to make a strong comeback in the current season after narrowly missing out on the spot in the playoffs last year. Warner, who joined the team last year, had an impressive season in 2023, scoring 432 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 150.52. In their first match against LSG, DC has fielded four overseas players, including Warner, Rovman Powell, and Mitchell Marsh. The team also handed a debut cap to South African batter Rilee Russouw and gave uncapped Indian player Mukesh Kumar his IPL debut.

Despite Pant’s absence, the team has made it clear that he is still a valued member of their squad, and they will continue to support him as he recovers from his injuries.

The heartwarming gesture has garnered praise from fans and players alike, demonstrating the importance of team spirit and camaraderie in sports.
