On Tuesday, January 31, Pakistan’s star pacer Naseem Shah hogged headlines after fans accused him of body shaming Azam Khan in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Shah, who represents Comilla Victorians in the BPL, got engaged in a funny banter with Azam Khan, son of legendary player Moin Khan. The incident occurred when Khan walked into bat, which is when Naseem walked to him, but Azam pushed him as he was not in the mood to have fun, following which Naseem, behind Azam’s back, imitated his walking style and made gestures that did not go well with the fans.
A host of fans accused Naseem of body shaming and urged the 19-year-old to learn and not repeat the instance. On the contrary, there was a particular section that did not find anything wrong in the clip and defended Naseem by saying that it was just fun banter between two friends. Here are some of the reactions from the internet.
Azam Khan scored 12 runs off four balls, which included one four and a six. Comilla Victorians won the game by seven wickets and 10 balls left to play.
