They should have prepared a spin-friendly pitch or a track that had a bounce in it.

Shoaib Akhtar has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board for preparing a flat pitch for the opening Test against England.

He urged the cricket board to inform the fans in advance if they have plans for 500 runs on the game’s first day.

“Fans should write letters to the Pakistan Cricket Board urging the body to inform them if they have plans for 500 runs on the first day of a Test,” he said.

“Test cricket is not played on dead pitches. They should have prepared a spin-friendly pitch or a track that had a bounce in it. But they failed on both counts,” he added.

Four England batters scored centuries as the visitors amassed 657 runs in their first innings. Pakistan were 181/0 at the end of Day 2.
