Ajay Jadeja has slammed the Indian batters for not respecting conditions during the first ODI against Bangladesh.

The Men in Blue were bowled out for 186 in 41.2 overs and lost the game by 1 wicket.

“If you decide before a World Cup how you are going to play, then that’s what happened in the first ODI against Bangladesh. You will get out making mistakes, but it would have been nice if you batted for 50 overs,” he said.

He blamed India’s attacking approach for their failure.

“Bowlers didn’t get you out. You never went in a defensive mode. You were in attacking mode. Even your tail was not left to play 20% of the game.”

Jadeja feels India went into the contest with a pre-decided plan. “You had already decided your approach without even reading the conditions. You have to respect the game and its conditions. This will happen if you don’t respect cricket.”

Jadeja concluded that the Men in Blue’s approach led to their downfall.

“They were in the attacking mode and didn’t play more than 8 overs. Their thinking was wrong during the time of batting.”
