India women defeated Bangladesh women by 8 wickets to reach the final of the Asian Games 2023.
Pooja Vastrakar finished with 4/17, while Titas Sadhu, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Amanjot Kaur, and Devika Vaidya dismissed one batter each to bowl Bangladesh Women out for 51, their lowest WT20I total against the Women in Blue. India completed the chase in 8,2 overs, assuring themselves of at least a silver medal.
Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Varma were sent back by the rival team. Mandhana led the team against Malaysia and Bangladesh as regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur was suspended for two games.
In the previous game against Malaysia, India were 173/2 in 15 overs as the clash was shortened due to rain. However, the other innings couldn’t be played due to a downpour, and India made it to the semis due to their higher rankings.
