The Asia Cup 2023 is likely to be played without Pakistan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has toughened its stance against Pakistan.
Jay Shah, who is the head of the Asian Cricket Council. is ready to go ahead without the Men in Green. Sri Lanka is the favourite to host the Continental Cup after getting BCCI’s support.
PCB chairman Najam Sethi will be conveyed a clear message in the next meeting of the ACC.
“There is no way Pakistan will be allowed to host the event. We will also talk to the ICC so that the Champions Trophy is also shifted out. Sri Lanka will host the Asia Cup 2023. The decision will be taken in the next ACC meeting,” a senior BCCI official close to the development told InsideSport.
BCCI will make it clear to accept the demands or leave. Pakistan are in touch with South Africa and Zimbabwe for a Tri-Nation series if the event is shifted out.
