Cricketer turned analyst Aakash Chopra has weighed in his prediction ahead of the 1st T20I between India and South Africa.
Chopra added that the toss would prove to be the deciding factor in the match. He feels that if South Africa wins the toss, they will 100% win the match.
The Indian selection committee went ahead with the emerging players to balance workload management for their star players. However, KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav’s injury has impacted Team India’s chances.
The former Indian batter feels that the latest blows to the team resulted in Proteas being the favorite for the series opener.
In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra said, “Earlier I was saying India will win this match, but now I feel South Africa can win this match. If South Africa win the toss, they will win the match 100%. But if India win the toss, even then, I feel the game is 51-49 in favour of South Africa.”
Chopra further predicted Kagiso Rabada and Yuzvendra Chahal to be star performers for their respective teams.
“Chahal and Rabada would take three or more wickets. [Rishabh] Pant is the captain, and he might bowl Chahal more towards death. His numbers are good, whether it is against [David] Miller or Quinton de Kock. Kagiso Rabada – powerplay, death overs – I think he will get a couple of wickets.”
