Sanju Samson third ODI vs NZ
Aakash Chopra feels India should play Sanju Samson in the third and final ODI against New Zealand.

Sanju Samson was dropped from the second ODI despite an impressive display in the opening encounter of the series against New Zealand.

The fans were furious with the team management for leaving out Samson, who has recently faced a similar fate. Deepak Hooda was included in his place, and the captain Shikhar Dhawan revealed the reason behind benching the right-handed batter.

Sanju was benched in the entire T20I series, with skipper Hardik Pandya saying it was a strategic move.

“We wanted the sixth bowler in the Playing XI, so Samson was dropped, and Hooda played. Chahar was picked because he can swing the ball both ways. A few top players are missing from the series, but this side is still strong,” he added.

He also spoke about the game being called off due to rain. “It is not in our control. Now looking forward to the third and final game. The track didn’t do much for the bowlers, and it was nice to see Shubman’s batting.”
