Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad said India don’t want to lose in Pakistan and are running away from the contest. He was referring to the news of shiting the Asia Cup 2023 to another venue other than Pakistan.
The BCCI has refused to play in the neighboring country due to political tension. The upcoming Continental Cup is likely to be played in the UAE or Sri Lanka after BCCI’s firm stance.
“They don’t want to play in Pakistan because they know Pakistan are the superior side. They are afraid of losing in Pakistan because the public will not be able to digest their defeat. It’s always been the case. During our time, the same thing happened. Riots and fights take place there as the crowd is nasty in India. You would have seen the public burn down houses whenever India loses to anyone. When we used to play, they faced the same problem.”
India last played Pakistan in Australia’s ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and won the game by 4 wickets.
