Team India suffered a crushing defeat against Australia in the World Test Championship final. The sub-continent nation fell short by 209 while chasing 444. India managed 296 and 234 in their two innings. On the other hand, Pat Cummins’team smashed 469 and 270/8 declare.
Following the defeat, Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid was asked about India’s preparations for the mega match. All the Indian players barring Cheteshwar Pujara played in the Indian Premier League 2023.
Drvid didn’t say it directly buy was miffed with the BCCI for the cramped schedule which didn’t give time to the players to prepare for the game.
“I am never going to be happy with our preparations as a coach. But that’s the reality and I can’t do anything about it. The schedule is cramped. If the players were here three weeks before the final and played a couple of practice games, they would have been better prepared,” he said.
“We don’t have that luxury. I don’t have any complaints. We will have to work on our game. Congratulations to Australia,” he added.
