Yuzvendra Chahal

Former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad has questioned the selection process after the Rohit Sharma-led team was humiliated by England in the semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup.

The Men in Blue were thumped by 10 wickets at the Adelaide Oval. Prasad said that ignoring Yuzvendra Chahal for the semi-final proved costly. He didn’t get a game in the World Cup.

“We all were aware that wrist spinners will perform well in Adelaide but the management kept Chahal on the bench. His absence from costly and England won the game,” he said.

Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya’s fifties took India to 168/6. In reply, India failed to take a wicket and Jos Buttler and Alex Hales chased down the target with four overs to spare.
