Pakistan’s participation in the 2023 World Cup remains uncertain despite the schedule being announced. Matches will be held in five cities in India. The ICC has contingency plans if Pakistan doesn’t travel.

The 2023 Cricket World Cup is highly anticipated, marking India’s first time as sole hosts. The tournament spans 48 matches from October 5 to November 19, with the opening and final matches at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

Doubts persist over Pakistan’s participation, pending government approval. If Pakistan doesn’t participate, they will be replaced by the third-ranked team from the qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

The West Indies face the risk of not qualifying for the World Cup, having lost two games in the group stage. Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Scotland, the Netherlands, and Oman have qualified for the Super Six stage.

The hosting of the 2023 Asia Cup and World Cup has been uncertain. India has declined to visit Pakistan, resulting in a hybrid model with matches in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

India last visited Pakistan in 2008, while Pakistan’s last visit to India was in 2016 for the 2021 T20 World Cup. Pakistan will play in five venues: Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
