Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma
Sehwag slammed Rohit's captaincy against LSG

Lucknow Super Giants crashed out of IPL 16 as five-time winners Mumbai Indians beat LSG by 81 runs to lock a match against Gujarat Titans for the second qualifier on May 26.

It was MI’s biggest win of the season, and the major positive for the Indians was their star bowler Akash Madhwal, who became the first player to take a five-wicket haul in the knockout phase in the history of IPL.

After the win, several experts hailed the right-arm quick and also spoke highly of Rohit Sharma, who rotated his bowlers well against Lucknow. However, in the latest development, former India opener Virender Sehwag praised MI’s performance but criticised Rohit over his decisions in the game.

The 44-year-old slammed Rohit for giving Hrithik Shokeen the 6th over of the game when Marcus Stoinis was on strike and remarked that the MI skipper could have waited for the powerplay to get over.

“I was very upset with Rohit for giving Shokeen the 6th over when Stoinis was on strike. He is a young bowler, and Marcus was looking to target a bowler like him. You could have brought Hrithik after the powerplay and given the over to experienced Piyush Chawla.”
