India and Pakistan’s matches are sold out in the ICC tournaments and Asia Cup. The last game between the two in ICC T20 World Cup was witnessed by more than 90,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Fans have often demanded more games but due to political issues, the bilateral series doesn’t take place.
Former Australia fast bowler and Pakistan’s bowling coach, Shaun Tait, wants to see Babar Azam’s team taking on India in a Test match at Lord’s.
“I want to see Test match between India and Pakistan at Lords. This will be bigger than Ashes,” he wrote.
The two neighbouring countries can compete if they qualify for the final of the World Test Championship. Pakistan had a chance to make it to but lost the home Test series to Australia and England.
On the hand, India are still in contention for the mega match. The hosts won the first Test against Australia and if they win two more out of remaining three, they would qualify for the final.
