India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant suffered injuries after his car met with a major accident. However, he got out of the burning car with the help of locals, which saved his life.
Pant was heading home to meet his mother ahead of the new year when the accident happened. He was expected to be at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) at the start of 2023 to complete his knee strength training.
Haryana Roadways bus driver Sushil Mann was among the people who helped the player.
“I stopped my bus and ran towards the divider. I thought the car would come under the bus as it was turning over and over before it stopped. The driver was half out of the window and told me he was a cricketer,” he told NDTV.
Sushil claimed that Pant asked him to call his mother. However, his mother’s phone was switched off.
“I don’t watch cricket, and I didn’t know he was Rishabh Pant. But the travelers on my bus recognized him. After removing him, I checked the car again to see if someone else was inside it. I took his blue bag and INR 7,000-8,000 from the car and gave it to him in the ambulance.”
Earlier, it was reported that some locals ran away with Pant’s money. Pant himself called for an ambulance after coming out of the vehicle.
