Kapil Dev gives a mouth-shutting reply to Virat Kohli for his outside noise comment
After India's Super 4 game with Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium, he hit back at the critics.

World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev is one of the most vocal personalities who wants Virat Kohli to be dropped from the team owing to his slump across formats.

Dev has always rooted for the in-form talents over reputation. A few days back, he made the famous ‘If Ashwin can be dropped from Test, then why not Kohli?’ remark that spread like fire.

His assessment was supported as well as criticized. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was one of the personalities to take a dig at the former cricketer by indirectly citing him as outside noise.

Dev is again hogging the headlines with his assessment over the rest given to Kohli for the Caribbean tour. He said if the selectors want to show respect by calling it rest, there’s no harm.

Although, his further statements were more neutral than his past comments on Kohli.

Speaking with ABP, he said, “I can’t say a big player like Virat Kohli should be dropped. He is a very big player. If you have said that he has been rested, give him respect, then there’s no harm in that.”

He further talked about the selectors’ role in bringing Kohli back to form.

He added, “The most important part is how to bring such a player back in form? He’s not an ordinary cricketer. He should get more practice and play more matches to get his form back. I don’t think there’s any player in this world who is bigger than Kohli in the T20s but when you are not doing well, the selectors can take their call. My thinking is that if anybody is not doing well then he can be rested or dropped.”
