Team India is currently in the West Indies, where the side is playing a five-match T20I series. The Men in Blue is leading 2-1 with two games remaining. While Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal have been rested, Deepak Chahar revealed that he could have played the contests against the Nicholas Pooran-led team.
Chahar has been away from action since February earlier this year after he injured his hamstring.
He missed the Indian Premier League 2022, where he was supposed to play for Chennai Super Kings.
“I have suffered many injuries, which has given me time to work on my basics. I have always worked on my game,” he said.
“If I wanted, I could have made a comeback for the series against the West Indies, but I wanted to give my 110 percent upon my return,” Chahar told News24.
Chahar was picked in the India squad for the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe.
