Avesh revealed the different roles he has with the team.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Avesh Khan has expressed his readiness to take on the challenge of bowling the tough overs for his team after his match-winning performance against Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Avesh defended 18 runs in the final over, picking up two wickets in the process, to help LSG register a 10-run victory over RR in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Speaking to JioCinema, Avesh revealed the different roles he has with the team, stating that if LSG were bowling first, he would get the first or second over, while in case of defending a total, he would bowl the crucial overs depending on the situation of the game.

The Indian pacer emphasized that he was always ready to bowl the tough overs for his team, and his main aim was to take wickets. He added that he had informed his captain and coaches that he was always available to bowl the tough overs.

“Depending on the circumstances of the game and whether we are bowling first or defending, I am given the first or second over when we are bowling first. In order to avoid thinking about when I will get the chance to bowl, I always try to focus on getting a wicket for the team whenever I have the chance,” said Avesh Khan.

LSG batted first in the match and managed to put up only 154 runs on the board in their allotted 20 overs. Kyle Mayers was the highest scorer for the team with 51 runs. Chasing the target, RR got off to a good start, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler putting up an 87-run opening partnership. However, the wicket of Jaiswal triggered a collapse for RR, and LSG ended up clinching the match.

Avesh Khan’s performance in the match against RR was crucial to LSG’s victory, and his readiness to take on the challenge of bowling the tough overs is a promising sign for LSG.
