Veteran India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik recently spoke about his playing style and said he is ready to go big from the first delivery he faces.
He likes to speak to his batting partners during pressure situations and trains hard to simulate high-pressure situations where there is no time to settle down.
Dinesh Karthik has been preferred over Rishabh Pant in the opening game of the Asia Cup 2022 against Pakistan. Karthik was recalled to the side after a terrific IPL 2022 season with Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he scored more than 300 runs at a strike rate of 183.33.
“Communication plays an important role in the middle-overs. As a new batter, I don’t want to waste balls. I am ready to hit from the first ball as the team is more important than my wicket,” Karthik told Star Sports.
“There will be days when things will be very difficult, and you have to prepare for such matches as a batter. You have to go out there and be on the money from the first delivery,” he added.
