Former India batter Dilip Vengsarkar hopes Virat Kohli will hit a century against Pakistan on August 28 at the Dubai International Stadium. Kohli has made a return for the Asia Cup 2022 after missing the series against West Indies and Zimbabwe. Vengsarkar, in an interview with Gulf News, said that he saw Kohli training in Mumbai and was impressed by his work ethic.
“Virat Kohli is one of the best players in the world and I am a big fan of his talent. Unfortunately, he has failed in the last few series, and his lean patch has extended,” said Vengsarkar.
“He is a great player. I hope he scores a hundred against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2022. It is a very big game for the Men in Blue. I just met him in BKC, and he looked fit,” he added.
Vengsarkar further added that India would not be bothered by the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, who have been ruled out due to injuries.
“I would say that India have a fantastic bowling line-up, and they will not miss Jasprit Bumrah.”
