Ramiz Raja has taken a dig at Umar Akmal. He played an attacking knock for Quetta Gladiators, but his franchise lost to Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League 2023.
Akmal scored 43 off 14 balls and took his team’s total to 179-6 in 20 overs.
Mohammad Nawaz (52) and Najibullah Zadran (59) were the top performers. Batting at a strike rate of 307.14, Akmal hit five sixes.
Sharing his views about Akmal’s outstanding knock, former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja made a big statement.
“Umar Akmal is a wasted talent. He is a perfect example for other players: If you don’t follow the rules and speak anything, you will get dropped from the team,” he said.
“He was one of my favorite players when he started playing cricket, but he destroyed his career,” added Raja.
