Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the influential bowlers in Indian cricket and has continued to spin his web around the batters for over a decade. The 36-year-old’s wife, Prithi Ashwin, is a solid support system for him.
Prithi appeared on AJIO Match Center Live’s ‘Hangout’ on JioCinema to talk about her husband. Hosted by Sania Mirza, Veda Krishnamurthy, and Danish Sait, Prithi opened up about their relationship.
“We attended the same middle school, and then he went to a different school to pursue cricket. The whole school was aware of his crush on me. We kept in touch occasionally on birthdays. When I ran into him again when managing CSK’s account, I was startled to realize he was six feet tall. We had been friends since seventh grade.”
They started off as childhood friends and afterwards fell in love. Prithi disclosed how Ashwin finally asked her out in a straightforward manner after ten years of friendship. He took her to a cricket ground and said, ” “I’ve kind of liked you my whole life, and that hasn’t changed in ten years. Let’s try this; we’re adults.”
She also disclosed who is most likely to start an argument out of two. “We fought this morning, but I can’t recall what. I believe he was calling with funny names, and it stopped being funny after a while.”
He is playing for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2023.
