Pakistan beat Afghanistan by one wicket in an enthralling clash in the 2nd ODI to clinch the three-match series. Afghanistan, batting first, put 300/5 on the board and had the game in their hand till the 48th over.
The Babar Azam-led side were eight wickets down after 48 overs and required 27 to win off 12 balls. At that point, several viewers and cricket experts had ruled the game in Afghanistan’s favour, but Hasan Ali kept faith in his side and also made a prediction about the mode of victory, which turned out correct.

During the tense moments in the match, Ali took to Twitter, where he wrote, “I can smell it will be edge for four runs and we will win.”
A few moments later, when the Men in Green required three to win off two balls, Naseem Shah edged the ball that raced towards a boundary.
The ongoing series has acted as a practice arena for Pakistan for the Asia Cup. However, Ali has failed to find a place in the side and last played an ODI back in June 2022. Pakistan will kickstart their Asia Cup campaign against Nepal on August 30.
