Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana
ICC released the Women's ODI team of the year

The ICC on Tuesday released the women’s ODI team of the year, and three Indian cricketers made the final cut. Unlike the men’s team, Women in Blue enjoyed a fruitful 2022 as they won the 2022 Asia Cup. However, in the fifty-over format, India failed to qualify for the knock-out stages, which is why only three female cricketers made the list.

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who scored two centuries and five half-centuries in 2022, has been named the skipper of the 2022 Women’s ODI team of the year. Kaur scored 754 runs last year.

26-year-old Smriti Mandhana is another Indian included in the list and has been named as the opener alongside Australia’s Alyssa Healy.

Mandhana had a brilliant last year as she gathered 696 runs in ODIs in 2022. Smriti struck a century and six fifty-plus scores.

India’s Renuka Singh is the 3rd Indian and the sole bowler to feature in the list. Singh made her debut in 2022 and was not a part of the World Cup. Nonetheless, she collected 18 wickets in just seven matches in 2022.

Here is the complete list of women’s ODI team of the year.

Alyssa Healy, Smriti Mandhana, Laura Wolvaardt, Nat Sciver, Beth Mooney, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Amelia Kerr, Sophie Ecclestone, Ayabonga Khaka, Renuka Singh, Shabnim Ismail
