Mumbai Indians stunned everyone with their journey this season, as they went from being in the bottom half of the table in the first leg to qualify and beat Lucknow Super Giants to advance further.
Akash Madhwal was the star with the ball for MI, as the 29-year-old registered the figures of 5/5, the joint-best performance in the history of IPL and the best numbers in knockout stages.
After the win, several experts hailed MI for emerging as one of the best bowling units despite losing Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah to injuries. Further, they also praised Madhwal for his spell.
Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan took a different route, as the fans suspected his message for Akash to be a dig at Hardik Pandya over his latest remarks for MI. Congratulating the right-arm quick, Pathan wrote, “Mi ek esi university hai jaha ki graduation Apko super star Banati hai.”
Interestingly, Hardik Pandya, who served for MI for a long time before leading Gujarat Titans, had stated that Mumbai Indians’ philosophy is to get the best people and win trophies, while CSK gives the best environment to its players and then win trophies. Hardik also rated CSK’s style as his preferred one.
