The ICC T20 World Cup is underway, and the Men in Blue will start their campaign against Pakistan on October 23.

Team India captain Rohit Sharma is one of the greatest batters in international cricket. He has scored a lot of runs across formats after being promoted as an opener in 2013 by MS Dhoni.

Before Mumbai Indias, he was associated with the now-defunct Deccan Chargers franchise. Playing all 16 games in the season in 2009, Rohit scored 362 runs at an average of 27.84 as Deccan won the IPL title in South Africa.

West Indies speedster Fidel Edwards was also a part of the team. He recently recalled when he bowled to Rohit in the nets.

“From the first time I bowled at him in the nets, I was like, woah, he bats really well,” Edwards told Hindustan Times.

Edwards said he knew Rohit would make a name for himself. “When I was with Deccan Chargers, I knew Rohit would reach new heights, and it’s no surprise that he is one of the best batters at the moment. I am sure he will perform well in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.”
