India won the inaugural edition of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 but have failed to repeat the performance.
According to Parthiv Patel, Australia can give tough competition to Rohit Sharma-led India in the upcoming edition of the global event.
“Australia could give a tough competition to India since they will play in their own backyard. They also have match-winners in the side. Even England and South Africa have improved compared to the last World Cup. However, Australia look like a strong contender,” he said.
According to him, Rahul Dravid and Rohit will have to include top performers in the Playing XI.
“Selectors will select the team but the real responsibility is with Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid as they are the ones who will pick the final Playing XI,” he added.
