Former fielding coach R Sridhar has picked India’s bowling line-up for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, scheduled in Australia later this year. The management and the selectors have rotated fats bowlers, giving them rest ahead of the global event.
Jasprit Bumrah has played only one T20I since IPL 2022, while Mohammad Shami last played a T20I match in 2021. Sridhar feels all the big names should be part of the squad.
“When it comes to big tournamnets, you need big players and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Bumrah & Shami are expereinced enough to know what is requred from them in the World Cup. They will be backed by Hardik Pandya.”
“Bhumrah and Bhuvi are dangerous with the new ball and in death overs while Shami will ask a lot of questions in the early overs. Hardik is fit and is bowling well at the moment.”
Sridhar picked Yuzvendra Chahal as the specialist spinner and R Ashwin as the backup spinner.
