Former India player Harbhajan Singh feels MS Dhoni is still fit to play in the Indian Premier League. He urged the Chennai Super Kings captain to fix his knee issue and return to play in the next season of the tournament.
Dhoni has almost taken the four-time champions to playoffs in the ongoing 16th season, with 15 points from 12 games. They need two points from the remaining two games to confirm their place.
In CSK’s most recent 27-run win over Delhi Capitals, he scored 20 runs off 9 balls, including two sixes and a four.
“Many feel this is MS Dhoni’s last season. I want him to continue playing. He should fix his knee issue and return stronger in 2024. The way he leads his players, there will not be another captain like him,” said Harbhajan.
“His 20 runs were the difference against Delhi Capitals. He has scored his runs at an impressive strike-rate this season,” he added.
CSK will play their final home game of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday, May 14.
