NZ vs IND first ODI result
Following India's loss in the opener, former England captain Michael Vaughan took a brutal dig at India's brand of cricket.

India crossed a 300-run in the first ODI against New Zealand, but again there was a no-show from the bowlers, who took just three wickets.

Tom Latham and Kane Williamson took the Kiwis to a win by 7 wickets to go 1-0 up in a three-match series. The pair stitched an unbeaten 221-run stand.

Following India’s loss in the opener, former England captain Michael Vaughan took a brutal dig at India’s brand of cricket.

India played the opener with just five bowling options – Arshdeep Singh, Uman Malik, Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar, and Yuzvendra Chahal. The move backfired as India missed the sixth bowler.

Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer hailed Williamson and Latham but also questioned the absence of the sixth bowler.

“Well played @BLACKCAPS Made 300 look like 270. Williamson all class as always but Latham stole the show. Not easy for an opener to move down the order and still be successful. India missed a trick by just playing 5 bowlers. #NZvIND,” Jaffer tweeted.

In response to Jaffer’s tweet, Vaughan wrote that India are playing an outdated form of cricket.

“They are a dated ODI team .. you need at least 6 if not 7 bowling options …,” he replied.
